Though it didn't work out, I truly appreciate the hospitality and hard work of the front desk crew (Hannah and Alaina when we were there). The hotel seems to be a great value for the money and we'll be back at some point in the future!

We booked a room for 1 night during early February, thinking it would be fun for our kids to enjoy the water slide.....the therapeutic pool was warm and packed solid with people. The water for the slide was stupid cold and not even enjoyable. Perhaps during winter hotel staff should ensure water temperature inside the pool is warmer then the water outside.

Showed up for the day to take my lot of 2 adults and 3 boys swimming! Everyone had fun so successful endeavor. Pros: Main pool was nice and warm. Perfect balance. Was relatively affordable. Cons: No clear signs to change rooms on the way in. Tiny change room when found. I used a bathroom at other end of the swimming area. Waterside was FREEZING. Splash pad area water for younger kids was cold as well. 1 hot tub was non functioning. Main hot tub was therefore super crowded. If you care, it was loud. Does not bother me or mine. Overall a 3 out if 5 because it isn't a well planned out area. Bathroom / change room situation could be drastically improved to facilitate families, lots of wasted space architecturally that could be used for more water slides or features. That said, I will go again, it's local and the kids enjoyed it.

This hotel is a time capsule. The common areas feel like you're in 1987. That being said, the customer service and amenities feel like they are from a another (better) time as well. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating at the front desk and the restaurant. They were a eager to accommodate my request for a late check out. The pool area has two hot tubs, a water slide and an aqua park for kids. The water slide is only open on weekends unfortunately. The rooms are more up to date than the common areas. They aren't special but they are functional, clean, and comfortable. The Ambassador is showing it's age, but everything and everyone there works hard and I had a very nice stay.

We booked the Ambassador Hotel for a family trip to Kingston. Before booking through a third party website, I called the hotel directly to confirm that their Junior suite (as it was called on the third party site) definitely had a bedroom separate from the sofa bed. We were travelling with an infant and didn't want to have to go to bed by 8pm with the baby! I was told the "suites" all had separate rooms, the junior size was just smaller than the superior size.

Edit September 2017: I have stayed at the Ambassador a few times since my review and I am happy to say that rooms are being renovated to very modern and comfortable standards. I was pleasantly surprised to see this.

When we arrived, our room - though very spacious - did not have a separate bedroom. We called down to the front desk and they told us that junior suites actually do not have separate rooms. The person we had initially spoken to had been mistaken. I'm not sure where things went wrong (maybe I didn't explain myself correctly when I called the first time) but the people working the front desk tried very hard to find a room for us that would work. They apologized over and over again and were very helpful and sincere. In the end, they couldn't find a solution that worked since any of the rooms we needed were already occupied. They promptly refunded our room cost and followed up with a call to ensure we had found somewhere to stay that suited our needs (they wanted to make sure the hold placed on our credit card upon check
